Lindsay Lohan
She was a cute enough kid in the Parent Trap and Freaky Friday, but I think around the time she finished Freaky Friday things started to go downhill.
She started looking more and more freaky, but she always seemed to be dating someone fairly attractive. (Apparently cracked out is soooooo hot right now.) Then she decided to go through her lesbian phase. Then she got pulled over, and sent to rehab. Then she left rehab early, got pulled over again and sent to rehab again.
I think she was recently in rehab again? Hopefully this time she made it all the way through. I'm a little tired of seeing her face in the news.
Then her mother said that Lindsay had been asked to be on Dancing with the Stars but had declined. Her mother did add in that she had said that Dina (her mom) should be on the show instead. Have there EVER been two parents who used their child for fame more than these two? They should be ashamed of themselves, as should her little sister who basically rides on her sister's coattails to make believe fame with her music career.
All I can say is I think we've got a clear idea of what Lindsay is going to look like as she ages with her botoxed up, freakishly tanned mother in the media all the time.
Take some time away from hollywood fellow ginger, and move on with your life, away from your Freaky Family.

Famous Gingers: Season One, Episode Two
Today's famous Ginger:
Chuck Norris.
My senior year of high school, the Chuck Norris phenomenon took over! Every week in our high school paper there was a new Chuck Norris quote or joke or reference.
Who could ever forget the Saturday morning re runs of Walker Texas Ranger?
Or this clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdsTUcuD7YA
Leave it to Chuck Norris and Haley Joel Osmont to throw something like that at ya' out of the blue. Too bad Haley Joel Osmont isn't a ginger, he was pretty much the cutest kid actor out there other than Jonathan Lipnicki. Unfortunately both of them have grown up to be drastically less attractive than their cute kid in hollywood days.
I saw Chuck Norris one year in Medford in their 4th of July parade. At the time I didn't really know who he was, so I was just excited that someone with red hair was famous. Little did I know he would be a phenomenon for my friends and me in high school.
I don't think we'll ever forget the Chuck Norris fad.
So congrats famous ginger number two.

Oh Snap 1
Like a lot of people around the world, I have been reading about the shooting in Arizona. What a tragedy. I can't even imagine what the families of those wounded and killed are going through. However, I do not want to dwell on the sadness of the event or simply the fact that the event happened. I would like to explore what I believe are the reasons behind the shooting.
1. Gun control is not the answer. While I do not personally own a gun, and don't really ever plan on owning one (shooting pop cans is about as far as I have ever gone or will ever go), I do believe that gun control isn't the end all be all answer to the recent shootings. If you are going to say that guns are the reason people get shot you may as well also say that food is the reason people get fat. It is not the machine that does it, it is the action of the person behind the machine. It is not the food that makes a person fat, it is the fact that the person consumes the food that makes them fat.
I do believe that there should be a somewhat extensive process to get a gun, at least for the first time. I don't think we should just be giving guns out to anyone and everyone. But I also don't think responsible gun owners should have to give up their rights.
2. Video games and television is not the reason. I will agree with anyone out there who says that television and video games have gotten more and more violent. However, saying that video games, music or television is the reason behind a shooting is ridiculous. While it may have a slight influence on the mindset of someone, it is not the sole reason. Even if we were to ban these video games, and this music, and these tv shows, people would still shoot each other. And if you think about it, there were Westerns long ago with violence and death in them. Cowboys were what every little boy wanted to be. The little boys of yesterday grew up play shooting each other with their hands. Little boys will take anything and turn it into a gun.
What needs to happen in these situations is not some sort of attempted quick fix. What needs to happen is that parents need to spend time with their kids. Parents need to teach their children how to think clearly and logically and parents need to teach their children how to cope with their feelings in ways other than violence.
I am not blaming the parents of the shooter, as I do not know what the family situation was like or is like. Sometimes people just can't think straight or are irrational about situations like this. But my guess is that this kid didn't quite understand how to think logically about this situation. And because he did not know how to correctly cope with his feelings or be rational about situations, people died, and people were seriously injured.
However, my point in all of this is that we can't blame the machine, or the food, or the video game, or the music. We need to blame the person behind the machine or eating the food and their illogical thoughts or their being irrational. Sorry America, but your I want it now culture and your fast food desires will not work for a quick fix here. It's going to take a long time to heal this community.

We all remember this kid. Featured last year on shows like Tosh.O and The Soup, he shamed gingers everywhere by freaking out about the South Park episode that most of us got a huge kick out of.
I pretty much died laughing when I watched this the first time. I just love his imitation of the guys who made fun of him. Apparently they were all prepubescent 8 year old boys who also happened to be sopranos in boys choir?
Then someone took that video and did this. And it was even better.

So...yeah...crazy gingers.

Famous Ginger number one:
Ron Howard.
Cute child actor, director extraordinaire (debatable I suppose) and ginger. Shhh, I know he's less ginger as he ages, but that's what happens when you get to skip grey and go straight to a gorgeous white. HA brunettes. HA blondes (you may have more fun, but we'll never lament over finding grey hairs in our hairbrush).
Ron Howard was recently on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and while they did not discuss his ginger status, he had a lot of great things to say. Check out the video via the link posted below. :)

Also, a funny little piece from Letterman featuring Howard.

All around a good guy and a good representative for those of us who have been shamed by those less illustrious gingers who have made it big.

Welcome. AKA Will I catch Gingervitis?
I can't make any promises. After reading this blog you may notice the following symptoms: A copper colored tint in your hair, see through eyelashes, skin that sunburns after ten minutes in the sun, or people asking if you are a vampire. I regret to inform you that there is no cure.
You have been warned.

- Hi. My name is Lacie. I live in Washington and I am a redhead. Sometimes there are insults hurled at those of us with copper colored hair, and this is a place for me to collect said insults and archive them, along with my opinions about them. This is also a place for general things that get me a little fired up. Enjoy...or I'll give you gingervitis.
